In the beginning of this new year, the Society of Instruction Guilherme Cossoul opens a call for proposals to host in its gallery two projects by visual artists.
Respecting the associative spirit so particular to Cossoul, our lineup in the field of visual arts has “production”, “dialogue”, and “participation” as its structuring concepts. Thus, the proposals to be submitted must observe these three concepts and approach the site-specific modality.
Together with the dissemination of artworks and their creators, our aim is to generate an intimate relationship between this and Cossoul’s space, as well as to provide an engaging experience for spectators, encouraging them to interact.

Guidelines
1. Scope
Open call for two projects by visual artists hosted by the Society of Instruction Guilherme Cossoul’s gallery.
The proposals to be submitted must observe the guiding concepts of “production”, “dialogue” and “participation”, and approach the site-specific modality.
Its intended to generate an intimate relationship between the work and Cossoul’s space, as well as to provide an engaging experience for spectators, encouraging them to interact.

3. Objectives
Dissemination of artworks and their artists, generation of a space for dialogue around the exhibitions, and development of workshops based on the artist’s process or technique.
4. General conditions
Cossoul undertakes to provide space and maintain the exhibition and to produce and disseminate all graphic elements associated with it.
Each exhibition will last approximately 2 months. This cycle will start in March 2023.
Cossoul opening hours are from Thursday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm, and a lunch break from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Proposals can be sent until February 10, 2023, to the email geral@guilhermecossoul.pt
They must be carried out by sending a unique document in pdf containing the project’s synopsis, images, technical info, the artist or collective’s CV and their contacts.
7. Selection
It will take place from the 11th to the 26th of February 2023, and will be carried out by the person in charge of the visual arts department together with the management.
